Secure your sign-in
Ensure that you’re the only one who can access the app – even if you lose your phone. In addition to the standard Venmo password, you can create a biometric or PIN-based passcode for your Venmo account.

Maybe you want people to see your perfect payment notes. Maybe not. Either way, our privacy settings let you control who sees your activity in the app.

Paying someone new? We’ll ask you to verify their phone number. Sending to a work friend? You can sync your contacts to add them as a Venmo friend and be sure you’re paying the right person.

In accordance with federal law, we ask all users to confirm their identity in the app, where details can remain encrypted. This helps Venmo verify our users’ accounts and is designed to stop scams before they happen.
